Passing by Ogdensburg and we stopped for a quick bite. Pizza (plain cheese garlic white sauce) was ready in about 10 minutes after we ordered and it was one of the best pizzas we’ve recently had. Total was $15 for a medium with a drink, more than reasonable. Highly recommend it!
Being from the Midwest this reminded me of Casey's General Store/ Gas Station pizza. It was good. We ordered bread sticks as well, and they looked as if they had barely been proofed and had a kiss of heat from the oven (pale with no browning). We toasted them further in the oven when we got home, and crisped up nice with a golden brown exterior - that made them good. The sauce that came with the bread sticks was something like a garlic cream sauce. It was alright.
Big Cheese is a great little pizza place. The prices are reasonable. They are always quick with their orders and the service from the staff is always impeccable. When we need a pizza quick this is our place. Thank you Big Cheese!
We got a broccoli and pepperoni pie, the person on the phone must have seen my area code was 631, because he double checked to make sure I was intending to order from his store, clearly telling me it's in Ogdensburg. It seems like a little thing, but double checking really would save me and him a lot of time and effort in case I had called the wrong place. The pie is the best I've had so far north of Utica. The sauce is a bit on the sweeter side than my preference, but I can get used to that. Good tasting cheese, a fair amount of pepperoni ( unlike some other review mentioned ) and I'll probably skip the broccoli on future pies. I do like it normally, but this may have been a bad day for broccoli or it was frozen... not a horrible thing, but didn't add anything to the pizza. ( I did order again a week after this without it and sure enough the entire pie tasted better because of it ). The crust is very good around the edges, the center of the pie was a bit too soft for our liking. I like to fold the slice and be able to eat it that way, there is no way that was happening with either of the pies we had from this location. From what I've had from other joints in the North Country ( and north of Utica ) this seems to be the way pizza is made. I don't personally understand it... but "when in Rome" so to speak. I don't really understand some of these negative reviews it's received, I am still searching for a "New York City" type of slice, but in the meantime, this seems to be the best in the area.
Eat here often. Everything is good. Breadsticks are the best! It's not really an eat in kind of place, but there's a few seats to sit. Highly recommend.
